Kolkata shop sees surge in TMC, BJP symbol mithai before counting day

As the counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha election approaches on Tuesday, a unique trend has emerged in South Kolkata where sweets bearing political party symbols are being made and sold. These specially crafted sweets are being prepared at Naveenchandra and Sons, where the demand has surged significantly. Utpal Mandal, an employee at Nalin Chandra Sons, mentioned that they are receiving orders rapidly and struggling to keep up with the high demand.

Biswajit Das, the creator of these sweets, explained that they come in various flavors, with the chocolate-flavored sweets bearing Trinamool's election symbol being particularly popular. Priced at Rs 90 each, these sweets are made from chenna of different flavors and are attracting not only the workers and supporters of various political parties but also the general public. The unique sweets are gaining attention and adding a festive flair to the election season.
